The local shop / petrol station / café, is one mile away, with a walking track from door-to-door. There is also a newly-built playground in the village. Across the road from Ballintubber Abbey, is the local pub. It offers great food in its restaurant. It is an ideal location for fishing as Lough Mask is a mere 6 miles away. The historic village of Cong and Ashford Castle are a 20- minute drive from the cottage. Nearby Ballinrobe Racecourse often holds race meetings throughout the year.
