The Old Rectory Reviews

Beautiful large property. Well maintained. The owner was very approachable
Sandra
Lovely house close to beach. Facilities great hot tub outdoor space lovely Dining room kitchen sitting area and bedrooms high standard Will definitely return
House was perfect for our family of 8 adults and 5 children. Hot tub was a big favourite with the children especially. It is log fired but there seemed to be no problem in lighting it and keeping it hot. Garden at back was a real suntrap. Location perfect, short walk to beach albiet stoney but wasnt far into town, lots of places to eat and off course ice cream. Took ferry over to Millport, just a short 10 minute journey. Would recommend
6 adults and 5 children spent a very enjoyable week at the Old Rectory. It is ideally situated for lots of walks and sports activities or just a stroll along the sea front. We even managed to get ourselves onto the ferry and spent a day in Millport. The house is very well equipped with everything you would need great kitchen. Rooms and beds very comfortable. Kids loved the hot tub! We appreciated the welcome starter food left by Ashleigh to get us started. Would definitely recommend a holiday in the Old Rectory.
Excellent property, very well equipped, clean, spacious and in a brilliant location. Excellent out door spaces too.

This was an amazing place to get together and celebrate our friends birthday. The house was beautiful and spotlessly clean. With all the facilities you could possible need. We needed a little help with the hot tub which was no trouble for the owners. They came as quickly as they could and helped us out. We would 100 book again.

Great place to stay lovely views good holiday had by all 14 off us
Philip
We really enjoyed our stay the property is fantastic and Largs is a great base to explore the area. The only downside is the lounge isn't big enough for the number of prople who can stay however we enjoyed being 'cosy' as we squeezed in. The Old Rectory is highly ecommended and we will be back.
Lovely property with beautiful views. We had a magical Christmas stay, there was 11 of us, the only downside was there wasn't enough seating for us all to sit in living room to watch a movie together, but we managed by bringing in chairs from dining room. Bedrooms are all spacious, comfy beds, if you like a firm mattress like I do. All in all, a wonderful festival time was had by all.
We had an amazing stay, the house is beautiful and central to Largs. We celebrated our Christmas day the kitchen was perfect for me to cook a full Christmas dinner. There is so much space, we were able to do lots of fun activities we brought with us. Only tiny fault was the hot tub it wouldnt heat up, but, Ashleigh was kind and accommodating and refunded us 100. We would love to go back next year, sadly with the price increase we may not be able to. The rooms are beautiful and warm. The creepy outlander room was beautiful but scary
We enjoyed our stay and the beds are the most comfortable beds in any holiday cottage we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a few. The bedrooms were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Excellent fridgefreezer space as we take enough food for a fortnight and good kitchen facilities. The sitting area was a bit small for all of us but we made it work. Ashleigh was lovely, always at the end of the phone, even when we called the wrong number she was always lovely. Would recommend The Old Rectory, especially if your stay is during summer as you are right on beach, would definately go again.
We did not manage to get the Hot tub to heat up. There adid not appear to be any instructions.

Lacking in facilities, no ensuite on the ground level, no shower mat in the shared bathroom and shower floor got very slippery so we bought one before anyone had an accident. Kitchen equipment not adequate as largest pan to small to cook for a family. No tongs to turn things in the grill etc. the front lounge was not big enough the party size. No bbq but we bought small disposable ones perhaps it would be a good idea to say in listing. All in all we feel the facilities do not match the premium rental so would not recommend it. It was an excellent base and we had good weather so had a good holiday in the area.
Stuart
We enjoyed a lovely stay and it was a good property for our entire family comprising 6 adults and 3 small children. The only drawbacks were the lack of a bath for our 1 year old grand daughter but we improvised by purchasing a small child's paddling pool which we were able to use in the walk in shower, and which, incidentally, we left behind should any future family wish to use it and we found the sitting area a little small it certainly would be cramped if there were a full quota of 14 people. On the plus side there was a high chair for our grand daughter to use, despite this not being shown on the listing, and the availability of a travel cot was greatly appreciated. Superb location with great views and ready walking access to the facilities in Largs
We had a great stay at the Old Rectory. We were a group of 14 adults. The facilities and location were great. The owner was also very helpful and on hand for any questions I had. We will definitely recommend the house to others.
Winifred
Great house in a great location, only problem was it did get a bit cold as no heating came on. Couldnt use the frying pans as they werent cleaned from previous guests. But would return in the furture. Was big enough to allow a large family gathering.
We stayed with aunts and cousins for a family get together, the house is lovely. Great property fab location only downside is there was no shower downstairs. Some members couldnt access the stairs due to poor mobility. It would be beneficial to have hanging facilities in the twin bedroom and carpets rather than the tiles, also needs small table lamp in this room. The other rooms were lovely and luxurious. We had a fantastic time in your lovely home.
Sophie
We loved our stay at The Old Rectory. It was a beautiful property and you could feel the love and happiness as you walked through the door. The sock box was the cutest, and so kind of the owners to leave us some starter bits of food. It was so lovely and relaxing to sit by the fire and listen to the waves. Thank you so much for a lovely and memorable family holiday Xx
Alison
Had a lovely stay. House had everything we needed for a big group of various ages and abilities. Beds very comfortable! Great location and great views.
