About Collieston Cottage

Collieston Cottage is a detached three-bedroom property set in the peaceful countryside near Dunscore, Dumfries. This charming rural retreat offers stunning panoramic views and complete tranquility just 12.4 miles from Dumfries town. The private hot tub adds a touch of luxury to this countryside escape.

The surrounding landscape is perfect for nature lovers. Rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see, with abundant wildlife right on your doorstep. The Galloway hills provide a spectacular backdrop, while nearby Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright offer interesting day trips. Outdoor activities abound in this unspoilt corner of Scotland.

The accommodation includes two ground-floor double bedrooms and one twin bedroom upstairs (with stairgate). The ground-floor bathroom features a bath with shower. The well-equipped kitchen has all modern appliances including dishwasher and washing machine. The cosy living room boasts a woodburning stove and large TV for relaxing evenings.

My friends and I wee looking for a relaxing break for my 50th birthday to get away from the crazy mad world we live in and it did not disappoint. The property is adorable so comfy. The location is private and picturesque and the hot tub is amazing both during the day and at night under the stars. Absolutely stunning cottage, amazing location with lots to do near by! Surrounded by fields full of sheep. So peaceful and relaxing. We had a fab time and we will most definitely be returning at some point. Everything that you could possibly need is there, hairdryer, iron, even things for kids, plastic cups and smaller knifes and forks. Lets not forget the little added extras, tooth brushes, soaps, tea, coffee, sugar just perfect for a late arrival. You clear go above and beyond for your guests. Thank you for a fab week stay in your cottage.

The cottage was lovely, with all the comforts of home. It is situated in a quiet peaceful area surrounded by great views. We spent most of our time watching the wildlife, red kites, lots of herons and all kinds of birds. The wood fire was so nice and it was great having the hot tub. We also appreciated the extras like the biscuits, chocolate, coffee, tea and the treats for our dog, such a nice touch. We will definitely be returning to this cottage.
We had an amazing time staying at Collieston cottage over the christmas period. The cottage was really well stocked, little details like toothbrushes and washing powder were most welcome! The wood burner and hot tub were big hits with our family and made it feel even more cosy. Unfortunately we didn't get to explore as much as we'd like due to bad weather but ice skating in nearby Dumfries was great fun! A lovely stay and owners very helpful and considerate...we will be back!! X

I have been on numerous cottage holidays, Collieston Cottage is the BEST YET! ! The cottage is so well equipped you want for nothing, a real home from home. Hot Tub perfect the countryside and silence stunning. FANTASTIC !!!
Cottage was really lovely. Hot tub was fab perfect as it was covered just what you need on a rainy day. Location was beautiful with wonderful views across the countryside. The only downside is if you want to eat out on an evening it is quite a travel on dark narrow roads to reach a pub or restaurant but it's worth it for the peace and quiet and complete privacy loved it just bring your own food and put the wonderful logburner on fab.

This holiday cottage is amazing, it is in a very quiet, peaceful location and is equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. The welcome basket is a lovely touch after having travelled on a long journey. Having a hot tub is a bonus allowing you to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings and watch the local wildlife.
We all had a lovely stay at this cottage. My two kids and dog were so happy with all the space for them to run around in and also very secure. The views are beautiful and the hot tub was fab also. Very clean and well equipped we would defo return.

The hosts, Hayley & Keith were very welcoming and went out of their way to purchase bbq facilities for us. They also supplied us with ice. Our Second stay in Collieston Cottage and we enjoyed it just as much. Its Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owners give you total privacy but are easy to contact if needed. Even though weve stayed before We filled our week with new things to see and do. Great location if youre wanting to see Dumfries, but want a peaceful cottage to relax in at night. The views are fantastic and the hot tub is a real treat. The cottage is bigger than it looks on the photos and you have to see it to realise how beautiful the setting is. The children loved seeing the lambs in the fields outside the cottage too. It really is one of the best cottages weve stayed in and weve stayed in many cottages. 1110

Collieston cottage is an extremely comfortable, warm and wellequipped home from home. The house was absolutely spotless on arrival and its setting is secluded but with all modern conveniences you would expect. The views are amazing and theres nothing better than sitting in the hot tub to admire them. This is the highlight of the cottage. Communication from the owner was excellent too. Very highly recommended.

What a beautiful place to stay. Everything was perfect, cottage beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped. Hottub area was fantastic as well, with beautiful views over the countryside and beyond but also undercover incase the weather was poor. Hosts provided a host of little extras to get us started on our break which included logs and kindling, matches and firelighters for the wood burner. Tea, coffee and shortbread provided in the kitchen as well as the small stuff like salt n pepper, cooking oil, tinfoil n baking paper. Absolutely excellent place to relax and unwind and we are definitely going to rebook as soon as we can.

We had a wonderful stay at Collieston Cottage, it was spotlessly clean on arrival and its very well equipped. The lovely little wood burner and the hot tub turned our trip into a cozy little getaway. The cottage is very secluded, which was what we were after, but its only a 30 min drive or so to the next big city. Its a lot more spacious then the pictures might suggest and we loved the little themed bedroom decoration and the other thoughtful little touches you can find all over the cottage. The area surrounding the cottage is just beautiful. We loved every second of our stay and will definitely be back! Also the hosts were really friendly and helpful.

We spent a perfect week at this gorgeous secluded cottage. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. So much attention paid to the decor and facilities. Our border collie pup loved watching the sheep and cows. Loads of walks from the door or a short drive away. We loved it and cant wait to make a return visit . Hysterical fabulous !

The Cottage is beautiful, spotless and really comfortable. Its much bigger than we expected and the views are truly stunning. It has to be the most well equipped cottage weve stayed in!
