This is a beautiful location, so quiet and peaceful. The cottage is well equipped, with comfy chairs and beds so important! The owners were very welcoming and checked we had everything we needed. We sat in the garden watching red kites and buzzards, and the endless house martins were a joy.

This cottage was an absolute gem of a find! Part of a beautiful farm but situated about half a mile as the crow flies from the main farmhouse and buildings. Set well back from the 'main' road and with no through road it was a very private and secluded spot with a gorgeous garden for the kids to play safely in. Stunning views of the rolling hills and a variety of live stock and wildlife to look out for. With the associated sounds and aromas, after a trip to a local farm shop, it really was a treat for all senses! The hot tub added a luxury element and was a perfect way to relax and soak up the views. The cottage itself was beautiful inside, exceptionally clean, with all the amenities listed. An air fryer would complement the kitchen utilities but it's not a necessity just makes life easier with 3 constantly hungry kids! There's no shop or pub within walking distance so make sure you get there fully stocked up. There's plenty of kitchen cupboard space and a good size fridge freezer. We enjoyed a variety of days out. The kids are aged 5, 9 & 12 and all of them loved exploring local castles as well as a day at a local fun farm with soft play. We'll definitely book again! Thank you!

Loved the Cottage, cleanliness was exceptional. Every thing we needed plus the hot tub with outstanding views. Loved the peace and quiet, and being able to watch the wildlife Red Kites and Buzzards, plus who knew that the cows and sheep could be so amusing, it was nice to see them. They say Southwest Scotland is a forgotten area as most people pass through heading to the highlands, They are so wrong it is well worth visiting and this cottage was an excellent place to stay. We would strongly recommend the cottage for a happy holiday.

Absolutely stunning cottage, amazing location with lots to do near by! Surrounded by fields full of sheep. So peaceful and relaxing. We had a fab time and we will most definitely be returning at some point. Everything that you could possibly need is there, hairdryer, iron, even things for kids, plastic cups and smaller knifes and forks. Lets not forget the little added extras, tooth brushes, soaps, tea, coffee, sugar just perfect for a late arrival. You clear go above and beyond for your guests. The cottage was lovely, with all the comforts of home. It is situated in a quiet peaceful area surrounded by great views. We spent most of our time watching the wildlife, red kites, lots of herons and all kinds of birds. The wood fire was so nice and it was great having the hot tub. We also appreciated the extras like the biscuits, chocolate, coffee, tea and the treats for our dog, such a nice touch. We will definitely be returning to this cottage.

We had an amazing time staying at Collieston cottage over the christmas period. The cottage was really well stocked, little details like toothbrushes and washing powder were most welcome! The wood burner and hot tub were big hits with our family and made it feel even more cosy. Unfortunately we didn't get to explore as much as we'd like due to bad weather but ice skating in nearby Dumfries was great fun! A lovely stay and owners very helpful and considerate...we will be back!! X

Cottage was really lovely. Hot tub was fab perfect as it was covered just what you need on a rainy day. Location was beautiful with wonderful views across the countryside. The only downside is if you want to eat out on an evening it is quite a travel on dark narrow roads to reach a pub or restaurant but it's worth it for the peace and quiet and complete privacy loved it just bring your own food and put the wonderful logburner on fab.

This holiday cottage is amazing, it is in a very quiet, peaceful location and is equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. The welcome basket is a lovely touch after having travelled on a long journey. Having a hot tub is a bonus allowing you to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings and watch the local wildlife.

Even though weve stayed before We filled our week with new things to see and do. Great location if youre wanting to see Dumfries, but want a peaceful cottage to relax in at night. The views are fantastic and the hot tub is a real treat. The cottage is bigger than it looks on the photos and you have to see it to realise how beautiful the setting is. The children loved seeing the lambs in the fields outside the cottage too. It really is one of the best cottages weve stayed in and weve stayed in many cottages. 1110

The house was absolutely spotless on arrival and its setting is secluded but with all modern conveniences you would expect. What a beautiful place to stay. Everything was perfect, cottage beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped. Hottub area was fantastic as well, with beautiful views over the countryside and beyond but also undercover incase the weather was poor. Hosts provided a host of little extras to get us started on our break which included logs and kindling, matches and firelighters for the wood burner. Tea, coffee and shortbread provided in the kitchen as well as the small stuff like salt n pepper, cooking oil, tinfoil n baking paper. Absolutely excellent place to relax and unwind and we are definitely going to rebook as soon as we can.

We had a wonderful stay at Collieston Cottage, it was spotlessly clean on arrival and its very well equipped. The lovely little wood burner and the hot tub turned our trip into a cozy little getaway. The cottage is very secluded, which was what we were after, but its only a 30 min drive or so to the next big city. Its a lot more spacious then the pictures might suggest and we loved the little themed bedroom decoration and the other thoughtful little touches you can find all over the cottage. The area surrounding the cottage is just beautiful. We loved every second of our stay and will definitely be back! Also the hosts were really friendly and helpful.
