Had a lovely,relaxing week at Longforth cottage. Everything was lovely and clean and the hottub and beautiful views of the sea were fantastic. Didn't get to meet Derek but he was lovely and helpful on the phone with instructions etc. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone. It is in a beautiful part of Scotland and there are many places to visit by car so well worth a visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Longforth Farm Cottage. The cottage was immaculate & extremely comfortable. A real home from home. It was private & so peaceful. The wild beach was about a 7 minute walk from the front door & we enjoyed bracing walks on the beach everyday. Visiting out of season meant a lot of visitor attractions were shut for the winter but The Botanical Gardens near Stranraer was open & even on a wet, November day the gardens were magical, well worth a visit. We even photographed a red squirrel there. A short drive to Newton Stewart or Stranraer provided supermarkets you might require plus nice coffee shops. We wanted a quiet, peaceful setting in which to enjoy nature & Longforth Farm Cottage provided that. The visiting seabirds at low tide were a treat to watch. The log burner was wonderful on chilly evenings. Our only regret was we didn't book two weeks! But we will return next year & hope to venture further afield into Scotland. Thank you to all concerned at Longforth Farm Cottage, we didn't meet you in person but we look forward to staying in your wonderful cottage again next year.
Hidden gem! Immaculate picture postcard cottage with the most beautiful scenery, ideal location whether you choose to enjoy the local area or venture further afield. Derek was on hand if we needed him and must be thanked for Longforth Cottage, everything was way beyond our expectations. The added bonus was the hot tub, views by day looking out to sea whilst at night stargazing so so many. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed staying at the cottage especially as we were all poorly whilst we were there. It was such a comfortable place to be ill! Had we been well, we could have taken advantage of the various gardens that were quite near. The weather could have been better though. Derek was amazingly helpful and we really appreciated everything he did for us. Wonderful to have an owner on hand.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Dumfries and Galloway staying at Longforth Farm Cottage. What a lovely place to spend a peaceful break in a home away from home. Everything about the cottage is spot on the cozy bright living room, the most comfortable beds, the beautiful modern bathrooms, the fully equipped modern kitchen, the fabulous hot tub and last but not least, the lovely patio and garden with wonderful countryside and sea views. A really excellent cottage, beautifully decorated and well fitted with everything you might need. Great location, quiet, with a lovely view of Luce Bay and also of the surrounding countryside. Comfortable beds. Everything was very clean. It was a pleasure to meet the owner, who was extremely helpful. Rating for this holiday cottage has to be 10 out of 10.

Excellent holiday cottage in a great location for exploring Scotland's South West coast. Plenty of great Golf Courses locally, fantastic coast line walking opportunities. Nothing too much trouble from the hosts, who provided a very clean, comfortable and homely home from home for our stay over New Year. Hot tub was perfect with Sea Views, big night skies full of Stars and we even saw The Northern Lights whilst walking down to the local Pub for tea. Thanks for the great start to 2025.

One of the best properties my wife, friends and I have stayed in. On arrival, the place was fresh and clean. The ensuites in each bedroom was one of the reasons for booking the cottage. Its kitchen was more than adequately stocked with the necessary crockery and utensils, though the electric hob and oven took a wee while to master the controls. The separate dining room an added bonus to sit and enjoy an evening meal together. The living room with the wood burner stove made for cosy October evenings. An occasional dip in the hot tub was enjoyed on a couple of occasions during our stay and the front patio area was handy for viewing the scenery while enjoying a brew. Definitely somewhere we would return to and certainly recommend to friends. Thanks Derek for an enjoyable few days.

This is the best property we have stayed in. From the welcome we received from Derek on arrival until we left we were made to feel so welcome and also so comfortable. The property is kitted out to the highest standard with great beds and showers, comfortable seating and everything you could want including a brilliant hot tub. There's a reason this property is so popular and we'll be booking it again

We had the most fantastic 2 week stay at the cottage. The views were amazing and the cottage was homely and beautifully clean. The area is soooo quiet and the garden was a good size for family recreation. Local pub serves excellent food on the sea front which is only a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended.

The property was very nice, clean and tidy. Derek was very welcoming and helpful. The location and view are great. One tiny niggle is the listing says EV charging is available for 5 a day. I was never going to recharge my Plug in Hybrid at that rate but EV charging is unavailable.
Stayed in a great deal of cottages up and down the country, longforth cottage is absolutely beautiful the pictures dont do it justice, like staying in a five star hotel, stone throw from the beach, hot tub was welcoming after a days walking even in early March, Derek the owner very knowledgeable about the walks in the area, if you like peace and quiet the number one place to stay.
