About Moffat Mansion

Moffat Mansion is a grand 7-bedroom country house in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. This impressive property sits near the River Evan with its own fishing rights and offers extensive gardens with croquet lawn and putting green. Perfect for large gatherings, the mansion combines historic features with modern comforts.

Located near the town of Moffat, this is a designated Dark Sky area - fantastic for stargazing. The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking opportunities with the Grey Mares Tail waterfall nearby. The town itself has quirky shops, good eateries and an 18-hole golf course.

The accommodation sleeps 16 guests across seven bedrooms. These include twin rooms with en-suite facilities, spacious doubles (one with two additional single beds) and a double with oak panelling and picture windows overlooking the gardens. Six bathrooms ensure plenty of facilities, including a Jacuzzi bath and roll-top baths.

Nearby attractions include Station Park with its boating lake (0.5 miles, 2 min drive), Grey Mares Tail waterfall (10 miles, 20 min drive), St Mary's Loch (15 miles, 25 min drive) and Drumlanrig Castle (25 miles, 40 min drive).

Wow, what a fantastic stay! The house was simply stunning and really suited our group of 14. We loved how accommodating the owners were, nothing seemed like too much trouble. We had a blast organising a Murder Mystery set in the Roaring Twenties, along with a birthday bash and a Hawaiian night. Plus, my daughter got engaged there, so it was extra special.
