There are some lovely forest walks nearby, making it ideal for nature lovers. Honestly, it's up there with the best places we've stayed in Scotlandand the price was quite reasonable too. We loved the peaceful setting and wildlife, it's such a calming spot. The location was perfect for dogs, with quick walks to the beach and around the loch - no car needed! We also appreciated how close it was to places like Castle Douglas, Rockcliffe, Dalbeattieand Kipford for food and supplies. The Steamboat Inn, recommended by Bruce, was really good too. Definitely a lovely getaway!

Honestly, this place is a real find. From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at ease and right at home. The annex had everything we neededand the hot tub was a bonus after long walks.
