We stayed in the lodge for a week and honestly, the weather was pretty terrible with constant rain and strong winds. Despite that, it was still a cracking experience, especially watching those huge waves crash just outside and seeing the sea birds battling the wind. We even spotted a red kite soaring overhead, which was pretty special. Castle Douglas turned out to be a lovely spot for food, so overall, I'd recommend these lodges if you're after a chilled out break, even if the weather's not perfect!
